College Board announced that Fort Myers High School has been named to the 2025 Advanced Placement\u00ae Program (AP\u00ae) School Honor Roll, earning Gold distinction \u2014an upgrade from the school’s Silver recognition in 2024.<\/p>\n
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.<\/p>\n
Fort Myers High School had 60% or more of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, with 40% or more of seniors scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam. The school offers 24 AP courses with 41 sections taught by 19 dedicated teachers.<\/p>\n
“Advancing from Silver to Gold recognition on the AP Honor Roll is a testament to the exceptional dedication of our teachers and the outstanding achievements of our students,” said Fort Myers High School Principal Chris Engelhart. “This Gold distinction reflects Fort Myers High School’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and our mission to prepare every student for success in college and beyond. Fort Myers High School, home of the Greenies, is one of Lee County Public Schools’ oldest and most distinguished institutions, serving students in grades 9-12. The school’s robust AP program is part of the district’s broader commitment to providing students with pathways to earn college credits while still in high school, saving families thousands of dollars in future tuition costs.<\/p>\n
