UPPER CAPTIVA – The Upper Captiva Fire Department swiftly tackled a fire on Cutlass Drive, showcasing their skill and dedication.<\/p>\n
The fire is believed to have originated from a golf cart parked under the structure. As of 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, the fire has reignited.<\/p>\n
Duncan Rosen, Fire Commissioner, expressed gratitude for the quick and professional response of the Upper Captiva Fire Department.<\/p>\n
“I couldn’t ask for a better group of firefighters here on Upper Captiva. I feel very fortunate for the level of skill and dedication these firefighters present,” said Rosen.<\/p>\n
Rosen urged residents to remove any golf carts from beneath structures to prevent such incidents.<\/p>\n
“We were fortunate enough that it was spotted early and we made a quick stop on the fire to keep the structure upright,” he said.<\/p>\n
Rosen emphasized the importance of calling 911 in emergencies, rather than contacting the station or personal cell phones, due to potential cell service issues on the island.<\/p>\n
The fire commissioner also thanked residents who assisted during the incident and confirmed that no injuries had been reported at that time. The fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
