FHP said a driver did not yield to construction workers placing traffic cones on the Howard Frankland Bridge, crashing into their Ford F-550 commercial cab truck.<\/p>\n

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 A Georgia man is dead following a crash in a construction zone that shut down parts of the Howard Frankland Bridge on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The Florida Highway Patrol said this happened before 10 p.m. when a 37-year-old man from Musella, Georgia, was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound on I-275 along the Howard Frankland Bridge.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old Tampa man driving a Ford F-550 commercial cab truck was working in an active construction zone in the area for the company Archer Western-Traylor Brothers. He and two other construction workers were placing traffic cones in the roadway.<\/p>\n

Troopers said the Georgia man did not yield to the workers, entered the work zone and went into the closed lane before crashing into the Ford truck.<\/p>\n

Photos provided by FHP show the Ford truck damaged with multiple cones scattered along the road.<\/p>\n

Debris from the crash also hit a Nissan Titan driven by an 18-year-old Largo man who was heading southbound on the bridge, according to FHP.<\/p>\n

The Georgia man died at the scene, while the Tampa man and two other construction workers inside the truck received non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Largo man was not injured in this incident.<\/p>\n
