Against the backdrop of Biscayne Bay and a city that thrives on global connection, local leaders and industry partners gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Cruise Terminal G at PortMiami\u2014a project that signals what\u2019s next for Miami events, economic growth, and the cruise industry that defines our waterfront.<\/p>\n
A milestone moment for PortMiami and Miami-Dade <\/p>\n
The ceremony was led by Daniella Levine Cava, alongside the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, PortMiami\u00a0Director and CEO Hydi Webb, and Royal Caribbean Group\u00a0Chairman and CEO Jason Liberty. Together, they marked the beginning of a state-of-the-art terminal designed to meet LEED certification standards and accommodate up to 7,000 passengers.<\/p>\n
Mayor Levine Cava highlighted how the new terminal will enhance Miami-Dade\u2019s skyline while transforming how people move through PortMiami. The design-build project, delivered by Lemartec-NV2A Joint Venture\u00a0in partnership with Perez & Perez Architects & Planners, includes a multi-level parking garage, an intermodal facility, and infrastructure capable of supporting Royal Caribbean\u2019s Icon-class vessels.<\/p>\n

More than a terminal, Cruise Terminal G represents a strategic investment in Miami\u2019s future. With advanced technology, energy-efficient systems, and a single-berth design for faster embarkation and disembarkation, the facility is built for the next generation of cruising. Dedicated to Royal Caribbean Group\u2014while maintaining multi-vessel functionality\u2014the terminal will serve brands including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea.<\/p>\n
For Miami residents, this project means jobs, economic impact, and continued global visibility. PortMiami already contributes an estimated $61 billion annually to the local economy and supports more than 340,000 jobs. Terminal G, slated for completion in late 2027, strengthens that role while adding another architectural landmark to our evolving waterfront\u2014right alongside the city\u2019s vibrant neighborhoods, from Little Havana to downtown Miami.<\/p>\n
