A Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office deputy responding to a domestic call in St. James City shot and killed an armed suspect.<\/p>\n
No deputies were injured and, as per policy, those involved will be placed on administration leave with pay.<\/p>\n

OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING<\/p>\n
Sheriff Carmine Marceno confirms an officer-involved shooting on Crestwell Court in St. James City.<\/p>\n
This afternoon, we responded to a home in reference to an active domestic violence investigation.<\/p>\n
When deputies arrived on scene, they encountered the suspect who armed himself with a firearm.<\/p>\n
Due to the immediate threat, the suspect was met with lethal force, ultimately killing the suspect.<\/p>\n
No deputies were injured.<\/p>\n
The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office Major Crimes Unit is on scene. This active investigation is in its preliminary stages.<\/p>\n
