Anne Gerwig raised more than $87,000 last quarter to keep her House District 93 seat representing an inland portion of Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The haul, taken entirely through her <a href=\"https:\/\/dos.elections.myflorida.com\/candidates\/CanDetail.asp?account=88890\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">campaign account<\/a>, pushed her total gains this cycle past $106,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her sole Democratic challenger so far, lawyer August Mangeney, collected a comparatively paltry $6,400. But he outspent Gerwig nearly twofold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gerwig\u2019s fourth-quarter gains included a $50,000 self-loan not denoted as such in her campaign\u2019s filings with the Division of Elections website.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She also received 65 donations \u2014 a blend of personal checks, corporate contributions and additions from political committees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chpk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-746910 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/25JF-7.9.25-FL-Politics-Ads-728X90-V2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Former Rep. Rick Roth, who is now running to replace Democrat Lori Berman in Senate District 26, gave Gerwig $1,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She received the same sum from several legal and lobbying businesses, including Fort Lauderdale firms Becker &amp; Poliakoff and TSE Consulting, West Palm Beach firms Rosenbaum LLC and Herman Law P.A., and Plantation-based lobbyist Ron Book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From the agriculture business, Gerwig got $1,000 from West Palm Beach-based Agro Industrial Management and American Exports, a Florida Crystals subsidiary, and Closter Farms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trade and union interests gave too, with $1,000 coming from FPF Fire PC, Radiology PAC, Florida Surveying and Mapping PAC, the Florida Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists and Marine Industries Association. Professional Firefighters\/Paramedics also gave $500.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">From real estate, Gerwig got $1,000 apiece from Miami-based Fort Worth Property Partners, Palm Springs-based The Brand X Company and West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ncf.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-722105 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Sunburn_FloridaPoliticsWebsite_728x905186-scaled-e1740018793631.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other corporate donations included $2,000 from companies associated with Deerfield Beach-based car dealership company JM Family Automotive and $1,000 from Comcast and Southern Glazer\u2019s Wine and Spirits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gerwig spent just under $8,000. Half went to West Palm Beach-based <a href=\"https:\/\/patriotgamesconsulting.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Patriot Games Consulting<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She also spent about $2,600 on a campaign kickoff event at the Wellington National Golf Club, $549 on work from Spotlight Graphic Design in Tampa, $213 on printing from VistaPrint and $150 on an ad with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rest covered donation-processing fees and office supplies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mangeney, meanwhile, received 23 contributions \u2014 most from South Florida residents and political committees, through his <a href=\"https:\/\/dos.elections.myflorida.com\/candidates\/CanDetail.asp?account=89211\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">campaign account<\/a> and political committee, <a href=\"https:\/\/dos.elections.myflorida.com\/committees\/ComDetail.asp?account=89262\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Allegiance to Democracy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That included $1,000 from the political committees of Democratic Sens. Tina Scott Polsky of Boca Raton and Shevrin Jones of Miami Gardens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Florida Project, a political committee chaired by Florida Alliance Managing Director Tessa Bay, gave the same.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mangeney also spent about $15,100. The lion\u2019s share covered consulting costs: $6,000 to Plantation-based consulting firm Sunshine Strategies and $1,000 to Wilton Manors-based 1776 Inc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also paid $448 to Miami-based Little River Press for door hangers and $75 for a sponsorship with the Palm Beach Treasure Coast AFL-CIO.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The rest covered compliance, bank fees and donation-processing fees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mangeney\u2019s Q4 gains pushed him past the $64,000 mark. He had about $34,000 heading into the new year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gerwig had nearly $98,000.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The race to represent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flhouse.gov\/FileStores\/Web\/District\/DistrictMaps\/small\/HD_93.pdf\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">HD 93<\/a>, spanning Wellington, Greenacres, parts of Lake Worth Beach and a section of unincorporated Palm Beach County, is likely to be among the most-watched contests in the 2026 election cycle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gerwig, a former Mayor of Wellington, won the seat in November by just 354 votes after a mandatory recount amid a statewide GOP wave driven by President Donald Trump. Democrats expect to rebound in 2026 and view HD 93 as a strong flip opportunity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So far, the HD 93 race is a two-person contest. The deadline for Senate and House candidates to qualify for the 2026 election is June 12.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Primary is Aug. 18, followed by the General Election on Nov. 3.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wellington Republican Rep.
