Authorities in South Florida released a surveillance video<\/a> showing the exact moment a man opened fire in broad daylight outside a caf\u00e9 in Hialeah.<\/p>\n

After the incident, the suspect -36 years old and identified as Daniel Odio Su\u00e1rez- was arrested while attempting to flee the country on a flight to Havana.<\/p>\n

A discussion that ended in violence<\/p>\n

The shooting occurred on Sunday morning – around 10:30 a.m. – in front of the La Lunita caf\u00e9, located at 2200 West 8th Court, a spot frequented by local residents.<\/p>\n

According to the police report, it all began with a dispute between Odio Su\u00e1rez and the victim inside the establishment.<\/p>\n

The verbal dispute quickly escalated and continued in the parking lot.<\/p>\n

A security guard witnessed the incident and reported that the altercation escalated to violence when Odio Su\u00e1rez pulled out a firearm.<\/p>\n

In the footage captured by the cameras<\/a>, the attacker can be seen chasing the victim around a Mercedes-Benz truck before firing at least three times.<\/p>\n

The wounds and the urgent transfer<\/p>\n

The victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the legs.<\/p>\n

According to medical records, the man sustained three injuries: one to the left thigh that fractured his femur, another to the left calf, and a third to the front of his right leg, which caused a fracture in the tibia.<\/p>\n

Due to the severity of the injuries, he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he remains hospitalized.<\/p>\n

The aircraft, which was already en route to Cuba, was redirected back to the Miami airport terminal before leaving U.S. airspace.<\/p>\n

According to the official report, Odio Su\u00e1rez had purchased his ticket for 406 dollars with the apparent intention of fleeing and evading justice.<\/p>\n

Once on land, he was arrested without incident and taken to the Hialeah Police Department.<\/p>\n

During the interrogation, the accused provided what authorities described as a “full confession” of the shooting.<\/p>\n

Odio Su\u00e1rez was formally charged with second-degree attempted murder and remains in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.<\/p>\n
