{"id":11974,"date":"2025-10-20T09:17:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T09:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/11974\/"},"modified":"2025-10-20T09:17:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T09:17:07","slug":"orlando-chefs-unite-for-food-education-at-the-kitchen-house","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/11974\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando chefs unite for food education at The Kitchen House"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cWhat better time of year to have an outdoor party?!\u201d Pam Brandon wonders aloud.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hypothetical, of course.<\/p>\n<p>Local food writer Brandon, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/2021\/10\/13\/delicious-disney-new-cookbook-marks-50th-anniversary-with-classics-old-and-new\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">legendary Disney cookbook author<\/a> (and a primary planner of the dearly departed Field to Feast shindigs at Long &amp; Scott Farms), knows a thing or two about throwing outdoor bashes.<\/p>\n<p>The eighth annual A Fall F\u00eate fundraising dinner \u2014 colorful and communal \u2014 is one heck of a garden party. Brandon and her fellow board members at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchenhouse.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Kitchen House <\/a>in College Park, as well as its collection of talented chef ambassadors, are pleased to extend you an invitation.<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 27. Tickets, available now at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchenhouse.org\/calendar-database\/fallfete\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">thekitchenhouse.org\/calendar-database\/fallfete<\/a>, range from $250-$300, with sponsorship opportunities available, as well.<\/p>\n<p>Guests will enjoy a multi-course dinner prepared by an extraordinary lineup of chefs, including Lordfer Lalicon (Kaya), James and Julie Petrakis (The Ravenous Pig), Fabrizio Schenardi (Four Seasons Orlando), Jamie McFadden (Cuisiniers), Nikk Burton (The Monroe), Megan Amnott (The Kitchen House) and Kitchen House co-founder Kevin Fonzo, whose hands-on programs have enriched the lives of countless children who come to learn where their food comes from.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen kids get their hands in the garden and cook with ingredients they\u2019ve harvested themselves, you see something click,\u201d Fonzo stated in a recent news release. \u201cThey realize real food is both delicious and doable. That\u2019s the magic of The Kitchen House. (Photo courtesy The Kitchen House\/Krista Lyn Photography)<\/p>\n<p>And these small seeds, sown throughout lifetimes, are planted via fundraisers like A Fall F\u00eate.<\/p>\n<p>Those who remember the Edible Education Experience might note The Kitchen House\u2019s lyrical new name, one that reflects its role within the College Park neighborhood, and one that Brandon says makes sense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to its role as a teaching place for children, The Kitchen House has become a community gathering place, as well\u2026 [The name is] more direct, it\u2019s cozier, it resonates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/2025\/03\/07\/2025-orlando-sentinel-foodie-awards-best-italian\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Best Italian: 2025 Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As do events here, which also are cozy, from Fonzo\u2019s wonderful La Tavola dinners (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandosentinel.com\/2025\/03\/07\/2025-orlando-sentinel-foodie-awards-best-italian\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the 2025 Orlando Sentinel Foodie Awards Critic\u2019s Pick for Best Italian<\/a>) to its garden-to-kitchen programs for high-need students.<\/p>\n<p>Seating is still available for A Fall F\u00eate, both outdoors in the garden and on the porch, as well as in the kitchen and at upstairs tables, where guests can watch the collaborative action.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"Chef Jamie McFadden perfects the plating at The Kitchen House in Orlando's College Park neighborhood.
