If you\u2019ve got weekend plans, here\u2019s your sign to bundle up! South Florida is in for a double dose of cold fronts and a little bit of everything else, including a sunny break and possible stormy skies.<\/p>\n

The first cold front is already on its way, bringing some of the coldest air of the season to the region by Friday morning. By the time you wake up, temperatures are expected to plummet into the 40s and 50s across Miami-Dade and Broward, as well as the Keys. Even with the sun shining, don\u2019t expect a rapid warmup. Highs will struggle to climb out of the 60s on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

By Saturday, the cold air will retreat and bring comfortable highs in the low-to-mid 70s. It\u2019ll be a classic South Florida winter day with sunny skies in the forecast, while overnight lows remain in the 50s.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget your umbrella on Sunday, as showers and scattered storms may likely develop ahead of the next front during the afternoon or evening hours. Once this second front clears Sunday night, cooler air will filter back in, setting up a chilly start to the workweek on Monday.<\/p>\n

So if you\u2019ve got Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations<\/a> in store, or are planning to attend the evening\u2019s college championship game between the University of Miami and Indiana University<\/a>, we hope you don\u2019t mind it being a little brisk! Lows will be in the 50s and 60s, while highs stay in the upper 60s and low 70s.<\/p>\n
