FISH of Sanibel-Captiva announced its 2026 Board of Directors officers and welcomed two new members, while also recognizing the service of several leaders whose terms have concluded.<\/p>\n
After years of dedicated leadership, John Morse transitions into the role of past chair. FISH extended its heartfelt thanks to him for his steady guidance, thoughtful decision-making and deep commitment to neighbors across the islands.<\/p>\n
Susan Ryckman has been elected chair. She brings a strong sense of purpose, continuity and care for FISH\u2019s mission as she steps into the role. Bill Hayles will serve as vice chair, continuing his long-standing involvement and support of FISH\u2019s work.<\/p>\n
\u201cFISH is in very good hands. This group brings a mix of experience, fresh perspective and deep care for our island community,\u201d President and Chief Executive Officer Maggi Feiner said. \u201cTheir leadership will help keep FISH focused on what matters most \u2014 showing up for our neighbors, strengthening our programs and making sure we\u2019re well positioned to meet both today\u2019s needs and those still ahead. I\u2019m grateful for the strong foundation built by our past officers and excited about the direction we\u2019re heading together.\u201d<\/p>\n
FISH also recognized and thanked Jim Brady and Kathy Samson, whose terms have concluded. Both have contributed significantly to FISH\u2019s growth and impact, and their service is greatly appreciated.<\/p>\n
Joining the board in 2026 is Lisa Drews and Audrey Stewart.<\/p>\n
After stepping away from her career as a CPA and accounting manager, Drews has dedicated her time to volunteer work, supporting individuals with financial literacy, computer skills and GED preparedness, and assisting nonprofit department managers with budget preparation. She first volunteered with FISH in 2023 in the food pantry, and she currently serves on the Finance Committee. Lisa and her husband began visiting the islands in 2009 and now call Sanibel their primary home.<\/p>\n
Stewart graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in communication. Alongside her husband, she has helped to grow their island family\u2019s businesses. Stewart has a long history of civic involvement, including the Charitable Foundation of the Islands\u2019 Leadership Program, The Sanibel School PTA and Sanibel School Fund, Children\u2019s Education Center of the Islands, Sanibel Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Community Housing & Resources, and Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum & Aquarium. She currently serves on FISH\u2019s JOG N JAM Committee.<\/p>\n
