The expansive community would feature a host of communal amenities, such as tennis and pickleball courts, a swimming pool, and a fitness center.<\/p>\n<p>The community would also have a nature aspect, with 12 lakes and a 6,400-square-foot rookery for tri-colored herons and other native birds. This is a key aspect of the project; local residents have voiced their concerns regarding overdevelopment and its effect on Florida\u2019s wildlife.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-37562\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-17-at-1.08.27-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"646\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amenities would include a swimming pool and fitness center. GL Homes has started the new year strong, having recently purchased 192 acres in Palm Beach County\u2019s Westlake for development.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, GL Homes secured approval for the Calusa project, but that was later overturned by a lawsuit.
