JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Good morning! I\u2019m Katie Garner with your News4JAX Weather Authority forecast, and I hope you\u2019re enjoying this taste of fall as much as I am. We kicked off Monday with a refreshing 66 degrees\u2014you just can\u2019t beat a morning like that for getting outdoors or taking a quiet walk.<\/p>\n
You\u2019ll really feel that crisp, cooler air hanging around through the morning, with 67 degrees expected at 7 a.m. and a lovely 75 degrees by about 3 p.m. when everyone\u2019s heading home. Temperatures right now hover around 68 to 70 along the coast, dipping into the 50s if you\u2019re up north in Georgia.<\/p>\n
These comfortable highs are forecast to stick around through the week. Jacksonville is looking at 76 degrees today, about the same in Nocatee, and the mid-70s for other coastal spots. Palm Coast may edge up to 79 degrees, and World Golf Village should see about 77.<\/p>\n
Our Exact Track 4D 3-day forecast shows a quick rise to the low 80s Tuesday and Wednesday, but by Thursday we\u2019ll see temperatures settle back into the 70s where they\u2019ll stay through the weekend. Our average for this time of year is 80 degrees, and we\u2019re hovering right around that mark. I can\u2019t imagine a better week for golf, lunch outdoors, or catching up in the garden.<\/p>\n
Patchy fog likely in some areas<\/p>\n
One thing to look out for this morning is fog. It\u2019s patchy\u2014so while some areas, like Jacksonville International Airport and Palm Coast, have seen visibility limited to just about zero, other places like World Golf Village are staying clear.<\/p>\n
If you\u2019re in Lake City or Palm Coast, keep checking those conditions\u2014they can change quickly. The fog is expected to lift by late morning, leaving sunny skies for the rest of the day. I\u2019ll be watching for those trouble spots on visibility, but this isn\u2019t a widespread issue, just something to keep in mind as you head out early.<\/p>\n
Low rain chances, quiet coast, and tropical outlook<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a dry start to the week with nothing showing on the Exact Track 4D radar and not much change in sight. Our biggest beach concern is some elevated rip current risk, so if you\u2019re planning to visit the coast, just be alert and swim with caution. Surf heights are expected to stay fairly low, ranging from about one to four feet through the next several days.<\/p>\n
Tropically, things are also quiet close to home. There\u2019s a 30 to 70 percent chance of development well to the south in the Caribbean, but nothing expected to affect Florida at this time. A recent cold front has pushed most moisture down toward Miami and South Florida, keeping us comfortably dry in the Jacksonville area.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, no organized rain is likely for the region until possibly Sunday, and that chance looks minor for now. If you\u2019re tending your fall garden, this is a good week to water your plants yourself and get the most out of this beautiful weather.<\/p>\n
