ALL RIGHT, YOUR TIME NOW. 518. NO SCHOOL TODAY. A LOT OF PEOPLE OFF OF WORK, AND THEY’RE ALL GOING TO HAVE TO BUNDLE UP AGAIN. IT’S CHILLY. YOU KNOW, YESTERDAY I SAW I SAW SOME FOLKS AND THEY’RE LIKE, YOU KNOW, YOU WERE 30 MINUTES OFF AND I SAID I WAS 30 MINUTES FROM THE RAIN AND THE GUSTS, THAT THING THAT BLEW IN. AND I WAS LIKE, WELL, HEY, AT LEAST 30 MINUTES I CAN TAKE, I CAN TAKE THAT LOSS. BUT YOU KNOW, YEAH, I MEAN, IT CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL YESTERDAY. SO EVEN THOUGH IT’S CHILLY THIS MORNING AND IT’S BREEZY, AT LEAST IT’S AN IMPROVEMENT FROM THERE. TODAY WE WILL BE ANOTHER CHILLY FORECAST, BUT THE SUN WILL BE SHINING AND TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 50S. THEN NOTICE FOR TOMORROW THE 60S AND THEN THE 70S. SO AT LEAST FLORIDA’S HEALING THIS MORNING THOUGH, WE LOOK OUTSIDE AND THAT LOOKS LIKE A COLD DAYTONA BEACH, DOESN’T IT? 36 DEGREES. THE CURRENT TEMPERATURE 37 IN ORLANDO, 32 IN THE VILLAGES, AND WE’RE AT 28 DEGREES IN OCALA. SO YES, IT’S A COLD ONE WE’RE TALKING ABOUT, AT LEAST IN OUR NORTHERN SPOTS, THE THREAT OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES. NOW, HERE’S THE THING. FROST IN OUR MORE SHELTERED LOCATIONS, A THING WHERE IT’S NOT NECESSARILY SHELTERED. WE’LL TALK ABOUT WIND CHILLS BECAUSE THERE’S AS BREEZY OF A CONDITION AS THERE IS AROUND 5 TO 10 MILES AN HOUR. BUT NO SNOW, NO ICE, NO FREEZING RAIN. JUST HAD TO THROW THAT OUT THERE TODAY. ONCE WE START WITH THE SUNSHINE, THE TEMPERATURES WILL WARM BEAUTIFULLY 58 DEGREES. OUR HIGH TEMPERATURE IN ORLANDO 58 DEGREES. HUNTERS CREEK 56. IN WINTER GARDEN 57. IN DEBARY, 56. IN ORANGE CITY IN OVIEDO WILL CLIMB TO ABOUT 57 DEGREES AROUND THE REST OF TOWN. NOT MUCH OF A VARIETY. IT’S THE 50S FOR MOST OF US, 59 IN OCALA, 54 PALM COAST AND 60 DEGREES HERE IN MELBOURNE. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. TEMPERATURES RUNNING WAY BELOW AVERAGE SHOULD BE AT 72 DEGREES. IN ORLANDO. THAT 58 WILL COME UP SHORT AND OBVIOUSLY ALL OF OUR READINGS WILL BE NOT TO RECORDS, BUT TO WELL BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. NOW, TODAY, IT’S OBVIOUSLY A FRIGID START. WE’RE GOING TO KEEP NICE AND COLD THROUGH THE AFTERNOON FOR TOMORROW. WE’LL START WITH JACKET WEATHER, BUT IT’S NOT AS COLD. AND THEN LATER IN THE WEEK, LITTLE BY LITTLE WILL WARM UP THOSE TEMPERATURES. NOW WHEN WE TALK ABOUT TOMORROW, THESE KIND OF LAVENDER COLORS, THAT’S WHERE WE EXPECT FREEZING TEMPERATURES. THE LIGHTER BLUES ARE MORE OF A FROST. OKAY. 30 IN OCALA, 31 MARION OAKS EXPECTING 33 HERE IN SUMMERVILLE, 36 IN TAVARES AND 37 IN CLERMONT. AGAIN JUST OUTSIDE OF THE METRO. COULD BE TALKING. FROST TOMORROW MORNING. 39 IN SANFORD, 38 DEGREES HERE IN WEDGEFIELD BITHLO ABOUT 46 IN TITUSVILLE. NOW THE PATTERN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS KEEPS THAT COLD AIR WELL NORTH OF US UP IN CANADA, WHICH MEANS TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO START TO CLIMB. WE’LL BE TO NEARLY 80 DEGREES THIS WEEKEND. BUT LOOKING AT THE LONG RANGE MODELS, WHILE BOTH MODELS SHOW FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WARM, THE GFS BRINGS TEMPERATURES DOWN SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. THE EUROPEAN MORE MONDAY TUESDAY. SO THEY’RE BOTH SHOWING A COLD FRONT EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE EXACT TIMING NEEDS TO BE WORKED OUT, BUT JUST KNOW THAT YES, WHILE TEMPERATURES ARE BACK TO NEARLY 80 FRIDAY SATURDAY, THEY DON’T STAY THERE THE ENTIRE TIME. WE DO

Wind chills plunge into the 20s across parts of Central Florida on MLK Day

   Updated: 6:03 AM EST Jan 19, 2026

  Editorial Standards ⓘ

Impact weather is in effect this morning until 9 a.m. due to cold temperatures, with readings in the 20s across northwest metro areas.Temperatures are expected to climb into the 50s today, offering some relief with less wind and more sunshine compared to yesterday.
