{"id":125054,"date":"2026-01-20T16:36:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-20T16:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/125054\/"},"modified":"2026-01-20T16:36:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T16:36:16","slug":"rays-to-present-new-stadium-plan-to-hillsborough-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/125054\/","title":{"rendered":"Rays to present new stadium plan to Hillsborough College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Tampa Bay Rays new ownership group has prioritized the 108 acre Hillsborough College Dale Mabry campus for a new stadium in Tampa, between Tampa International Airport\u2019s secondary runway and the Buccaneer\u2019s Raymond James Stadium, and has an aggressive goal of opening a new stadium for the 2029 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Today, the Rays take the first step toward making their goals a reality, as the Hillsborough College District Board of Trustees is scheduled to vote on a memorandum of understanding with the team regarding a new stadium that will include a new campus for the college:<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup _1teeyfa8 ls9zuh1\">On Tuesday, the board will consider a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with the Rays, which the board can terminate at any time.
