STUART \u2014 Audubon of Martin County is proud to announce the launch of its 70th Anniversary Season, marking seven decades of protecting birds, preserving habitats, and inspiring nature stewardship across the Treasure Coast.<\/p>\n
The anniversary kicked off with a community event at the Blake Library on Thursday, Oct. 9, 6:30 p.m. where members, partners, and the public reflected on the chapter\u2019s legacy and looked ahead to the future.<\/p>\n
Since its founding in 1955, Audubon of Martin County has championed conservation efforts that benefit birds, wildlife and people. From restoring habitat and advocating for clean waterways to providing environmental education to children and adults on the Treasure Coast, the organization has been a steadfast advocate for our local ecosystems.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor seventy years, Audubon of Martin County has been a strong voice for birds and the environment in our community. This milestone is a chance to celebrate our history and invite the next generation to join us in protecting the natural wonders that make our home unique,\u201d said John Nelson, president of Audubon of Martin County The 70th Anniversary will feature a yearlong calendar of special events, including:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Birds & Beauty: Art and Photography \u2013 A showcase of nature & bird inspired works.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Special Field Trips: 70 Species Count \u2013 Birding adventures with local experts.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Audubon Field Academy \u2013 Educational workshops celebrating the birds of Florida<\/p>\n
\u2022 70th Anniversary Gala \u2013 A signature celebration with a silent auction, legacy film, and conservation awards on January 29th 2026.<\/p>\n
In addition to public events, the chapter will launch new volunteer initiatives, support our habitat restoration projects, and a conservation impact campaign tracking measurable wins for birds and habitats.\u200b<\/p>\n
