{"id":126712,"date":"2026-01-21T18:40:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-21T18:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/126712\/"},"modified":"2026-01-21T18:40:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-21T18:40:07","slug":"historic-jefferson-railway-cars-donated-to-florida-nonprofit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/126712\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic Jefferson Railway cars donated to Florida nonprofit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">JEFFERSON, Texas (KLTV) &#8211; In a poignant moment, five train cars from the beloved Historic Jefferson Railway have been donated to a Florida nonprofit to once again bring joy to families and preserve railroad heritage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The cars were donated to Kirby Family Farms, a 110-acre nonprofit operation that hosts family events and maintains its own railway line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Kirby Family Farms, which previously received a donated steam locomotive from the Jefferson railway, has already established a strong relationship with former owner Diamond Don, who said the donations were \u201cbittersweet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The transfer began Wednesday with the first of the five train cars being loaded onto a specially made trailer for the nearly 13-hour journey southeast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Historic Jefferson Railway was a 3-foot narrow-gauge railroad in Jefferson. Its route once passed the Jefferson Ordinance Magazine, one of the few remaining Confederate powder magazines from the Civil War.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KLTV.
