Mark Fletcher Jr. had an awesome game for Miami in the national title game against Indiana. The huge running back had 17 carries for 112 yards and two scores.<\/p>\n

But it was what happened after the Hurricanes lost that had fans wondering what the heck happened. Fletcher Jr. was seen on camera throwing some open-handed punches at Indiana defensive tackle Tyrique Tucker. Why? What happened that caused that?<\/p>\n

The Indianapolis Star <\/a>has Tucker’s side of the story: “I was just trying to congratulate him on the game. He tried to sneak me, everybody kind of held me back. That was a cheap punch, luckily we got the win, I’m not really too worried about it. He’s salty, he going home with the L.”<\/p>\n

We’ll see if Fletcher has anything to say from his perspective.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: From USA TODAY Sports<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Miami recruiting director Mike Rumph claimed in an Instagram comment late Jan. 19 that Tucker was talking about Fletcher father, who died in 2024.<\/p>\n

“Dude was talking about Mark\u2019s dad who passed away last year,” Rumph commented on a video of the altercation, posted by CBS Sports. “Mark is and always will be one of the most classy people you will meet. RIP Mr. Fletcher.”<\/p>\n
