PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A tense standoff ended without injury Sunday afternoon after a man barricaded himself inside a bedroom during an aggravated assault incident in a Port St. Lucie neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO) said its deputies responded to a home on Entrada Avenue, near U.S. Highway 1, on October 19 at 2:43 p.m. At the scene, deputies learned that the suspect had locked himself in a bedroom following a reported assault.<\/p>\n
SLCSO said its deputies worked to de-escalate the situation, and by using tactics and securing the area to protect nearby residents, were able to get Antonio Conde Cabrera, 40, of Dania Beach, to surrender voluntarily. <\/p>\n
Cabrera was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and transported to the St. Lucie County Jail, where he remains held.<\/p>\n
