President Donald Trump, accompanied by his eldest daughter, Ivanka, and granddaughter Kai, got a thunderous reception at the College Football Playoff national championship game in Miami Monday night.

The crowd at the Hard Rock Stadium roared as Trump waved during The Star-Spangled Banner before the Miami Hurricanes, the No. 10 seed, and Indiana Hoosiers, the No. 1 seed, kicked off the championship game. Indiana ended up beating Miami 27 to 21, winning its first national title in an undefeated season.

Kai, the daughter of the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., had her left arm in a sling. Earlier this month, Kai, who made her debut in the Ladies Professional Golf Association last November, revealed on social media that she underwent surgery to repair wrist injuries.

Ivanka’s husband and former White House adviser, Jared Kushner, and their two sons, Joseph Frederick and Theo James, were also at the game, as was Kai’s mom, Vanessa, according to reports.

Lara Trump, the wife of the president’s second son, Eric, and their children, Carolina and Luke, were also reportedly in attendance.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, was seen on the sidelines of the Miami Hurricanes’ field. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and UFC CEO Dana White, a friend of Trump’s, were also at the game.

In an interview with Clay Travis, the founder of anti-woke sports news outlet OutKick, Rubio jokingly said he’s ready to become the Miami Dolphins head coach after his term in the State Department is up.

“You said that you are not gonna be the next GM or head coach of the Miami Dolphins — you got enough jobs. Where does that rank on ultimate fantasy jobs though?” Travis asked.

Rubio, standing next to his son Anthony, who plays for the University of Florida Gators, replied, “When I’m done with this, I’m all ready for it after that. I got a job to do for a couple more years —two or three more years — and then I’ll be ready.”

It’s not surprising Trump received such a warm welcome in Florida, which he has called home since 2019.

Trump won Florida with 56.1 percent of the vote and Indiana with 58.6 percent in the 2024 presidential election.
