A Port Charlotte woman was arrested after stealing more than $30k worth of property from a disabled veteran in her care.<\/p>\n

On December 21, 2025, a Port Charlotte man contacted CCSO and reported someone had entered his Winchester gun safe and removed gold jewelry and multiple types of currency. The total value of stolen items was $30,350.00.<\/p>\n

The victim, an elderly and disabled Vietnam veteran, received care from a home health care service. Through investigative means, detectives found a subject who had been providing care to the victim had pawned items which were positively identified as the items stolen in this case. The subject was identified as Irlene Innocent Saint Armand (5\/18\/1979).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saint Armand was located at another client\u2019s residence in Englewood and placed under arrest. When questioned, she provided a full confession to include the location of additional property that had not been pawned. A search warrant was then executed at her residence where the stolen property was recovered, confirmed as such by the victim.<\/p>\n

\u201cStealing is bad enough, but to steal from a Vietnam veteran \u2013 someone who put his life on the line and went through the horrors of that war \u2013 is absolutely disgusting. This individual will face the consequences for her decision, and I am very grateful for the efforts of my detectives to make sure of that. What this man is owed far outweighs what was in that safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Saint Armand was arrested on charges of Grand Theft from Person 65 or Older \u2013 More Than $10K Less Than $50K, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Exploitation of Elderly or Disabled Adult \u2013 More $20K Less Than $100K. She was transported to the Charlotte County Jail without incident and has since bonded out in the amount of $30,000.<\/p>\n
