ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Orlando International Airport is planning a major parking expansion to keep up with growth.<\/p>\n
The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority on Wednesday approved two new multi-story garage expansions at terminals A and C, a long-term a plan that calls for 8,000 new parking spaces with targeted openings in 2030. About 1,500 parking spaces in the Terminal Top Parking Garage are currently being converted to reserved parking, a GOAA news release states.<\/p>\n
MCO is also installing a smart parking guidance system in all four garages to give drivers real-time availability information on FlyMCO.com, the MCO app, and on digital signage around the airport, according to the release. The system is expected to be running in Garage C in the first quarter of 2026 and in garages A and B, as well as the Terminal Top Garage, starting in summer 2027.<\/p>\n
As far as what\u2019s not included, MCO said it has decided to scrap its plan for a consolidated rental-car facility.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Board previously removed a proposed Consolidated Rental Car (ConRAC) Facility project from the MCO Capital Improvement Program (CIP),\u201d GOAA said in a statement. \u201cThe decision to forgo a single consolidated rental car facility is a shift toward more cost-effective projects and enhancements that can be delivered more quickly, while other options for a ConRAC are being explored.\u201d<\/p>\n
