The No. 20\u00a0Florida State men\u2019s tennis team\u00a0(5-1) fell 4-1 Wednesday to No. 16 Arizona (3-1) at the Robson Tennis Center.<\/p>\n

The Seminoles captured the doubles point by taking two of the three matches.\u00a0No. 82\u00a0Mohammad Alkotop\u00a0and\u00a0Azariah Rusher\u00a0dropped a\u00a06-3\u00a0decision to Alejandro Arcila\u00a0and Jay Friend.\u00a0Luis Felipe Miguel\u00a0and\u00a0Erik Schiessl\u00a0posted a 6-3 victory on court one, while\u00a0Gabriele Brancatelli\u00a0and\u00a0Jan Sebesta\u00a0pulled out a clutch 7-6 victory on court three over Zoran Ludoski and Alexander Rozin.\u00a0Brancatelli\u00a0and Sebesta won the tiebreaker 10-8 to secure the win and help pick up the point for Florida State.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In singles\u00a0competition,\u00a0Arizona took\u00a0four\u00a0of six matches to capture the victory. At the top spot,\u00a0No.\u00a069\u00a0Luis Felipe Miguel\u00a0dropped\u00a0a\u00a06-2,\u00a06-4\u00a0decision to\u00a0No. 58\u00a0Filip Gustafsson\u00a0before\u00a0Corey Craig\u00a0fell to\u00a0No.\u00a04\u00a0Friend\u00a06-3,\u00a06-2. At third\u00a0singles,\u00a0No. 43\u00a0Rusher\u00a0fell to\u00a0Glib Sekachov\u00a0(6-1,\u00a06-2),\u00a0while\u00a0Alkotop\u00a0was defeated\u00a0by Arciola\u00a0in straight sets\u00a06-3, 6-2.\u00a0Schiessl\u2019s match against\u00a0Rozin went unfinished as\u00a0Schiessl\u00a0dropped the first set before Rozin took a 3-0 lead in the second\u00a0set.\u00a0Brancatelli\u2019s\u00a0match also went unfinished\u00a06-3, 5-1.<\/p>\n

Florida State will remain in Arizona for the ITA Kickoff on January 23-24 at the\u00a0Robson Tennis Center, with its first matchup set against No. 22 Pepperdine at 2 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
