{"id":128084,"date":"2026-01-22T18:13:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:13:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/128084\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T18:13:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T18:13:07","slug":"man-accused-of-fatally-shooting-woman-in-north-fort-myers-lee-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/128084\/","title":{"rendered":"Man accused of fatally shooting woman in North Fort Myers | Lee County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.\u2014The Lee County Sheriff\u2019s Office has arrested a man accused of fatally shooting a woman on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.winknews.com\/news\/lee\/active-investigation-on-delft-ave-in-north-fort-myers\/article_3278efb0-d761-424d-81a1-3325482f9207.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Delft Avenue.<\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Deputies responded to the scene on Wednesday evening, where, upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were used on the woman; however, she succumbed to her injuries.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The sheriff\u2019s office major crimes unit launched an investigation, where they determined that Joseph Delnegro, 49, was their lead suspect.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Delnegro, who is also a convicted felon in Colorado, does not have the legal right to possess a firearm, according to law enforcement.
