ST. PETERSBURG \u2014 A 37-year-old Georgia man died after crashing into a construction work truck on the Howard Frankland Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
The Musella, Georgia, man was driving a Chevrolet Silverado south on Interstate 275 around 9:57 p.m. Jan. 12 when he failed to yield to workers in an active construction zone near the 34 mile marker by the Fourth Street North interchange in St. Petersburg, troopers said.<\/p>\n
His truck entered a closed lane and struck a Ford F550 work truck driven by a 45-year-old Tampa man, according to FHP.<\/p>\n
The collision sent debris into a third vehicle, a Nissan Titan driven by an 18-year-old Largo man who was also heading south on I-275. That driver was not hurt, troopers said.<\/p>\n
The Georgia driver died at the scene, according to FHP.<\/p>\n
The work truck driver and two other construction workers aboard the F550 suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were taken to a hospital, troopers said. The workers were employed by Archer Western-Traylor Brothers JV, according to FHP.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ST.
