The Miami Hurricanes are losing a young wide receiver right after their national championship loss. According to Pete Nakos of On3<\/a>, Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Joshisa \u201cJojo\u201d Trader plans to enter the transfer portal. The sophomore has at least two more years of eligibility.<\/p>\n

Trader was a four-star prospect out of Chaminade-Madonna High School when he was recruited by the Miami Hurricanes. The four-star from the class of 2024 was ranked the 14th\u00a0wide receiver and 70th\u00a0overall prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports<\/a>. He committed to the Hurricanes on July 13, 2023.<\/p>\n

Trader played sparingly his freshman season, racking up six catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, which was a 40-yard sprint in the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl against Iowa State.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2025 saw improved numbers from Trader, but he still didn\u2019t get his desired snaps. He had just 13 catches for 178 yards and another touchdown. His only touchdown was a 36-yarder in Miami\u2019s 26-20 overtime loss to the SMU Mustangs. He had just two total receptions for 10 yards in the College Football<\/a> Playoff.<\/p>\n

Safe to say, Trader has promise as a deep threat, and he could be looking to transfer to another school in Florida, such as Florida State or Florida. He could even look at the Texas A&M Aggies, who could lose starting wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion to the draft.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Regardless, while he isn\u2019t ranked by 247Sports yet, Trader should be a pretty high priority on the transfer portal. He has two more years of eligibility, and he could be a home-run threat for any team that can catch him off the portal.<\/p>\n

The Hurricanes have lost a few players from the portal. Running back Girard Pringle Jr. is probably the most high-profile of all of them, since he was a 2025 four-star who ran for 375 yards and four touchdowns.
