Crashes closed lanes and caused major delays on Interstate 95 in Broward and Florida’s Turnpike in Miami-Dade on Friday, according to video and the Florida Highway Patrol. <\/p>\n
The first crash happened at around 5:47 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike at mile marker 8 in Miami-Dade.<\/p>\n
The roadway was completely shut down due to what the Florida Highway Patrol described as a “vehicle crash w\/ injuries and roadblock.”<\/p>\n
Video showed drivers getting by on the shoulder lane as crews worked the scene. <\/p>\n
At around 6:32 p.m. troopers responded to another crash on I-95 southbound in Broward. <\/p>\n
At least three lanes were blocked as emergency crews responded to the scene at Stirling Road. Drivers are advised to take Florida’s Turnpike or U.S. 441 as an alternate route. <\/p>\n
