Concise text for each species includes information on identification, songs and calls, behavior, distribution, habitat, and seasonality. The book also includes insights into some of Florida\u2019s top birding locations with notes on accessibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve traveled to every continent, not to check them off my list, but to appreciate the vast and diverse beauty housed on our planet,\u201d she said. \u201cI trained as a biologist, getting a master\u2019s degree before realizing that the stories I wanted to tell were not in data, numbers and statistics. I came to realize that creative non-fiction writing and a camera were my tools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A book signing will follow the lecture.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cDing\u201d Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge co-hosts the series with the refuge and through financial support from sponsors. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs.
