Osceola<\/a> is 1-9 against St. Petersburg<\/a> since November of 2015 but they’ll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Warriors will get right back to it and host the Green Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they’ll have plenty of motivation to get the ‘W’.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Osceola came up short against Sports Leadership & Management and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can’t take it too hard given the team’s big disadvantage in MaxPreps’ Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the Spartans are ranked 133rd).<\/p>\n

Despite the defeat, Osceola had strong showings from Brianna Davidson<\/a>, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Adrian Jenezon<\/a>, who posted eight points in addition to three steals and three blocks. With that strong performance, Davidson is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Lakewood by a score of 47-36.<\/p>\n

Osceola will need to focus on slowing down Shaw Summer<\/a>, one of several St. Petersburg players who made an impact when they last played. She earned nine points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Lily Eastman<\/a> was another key player, putting up nine points.<\/p>\n

Osceola’s loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for St. Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.<\/p>\n

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Osceola has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.1 boards per game. However, it’s not like St. Petersburg struggles in that department as they’ve been averaging 36.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we’ll see if one team can grab an edge.<\/p>\n

Osceola took a serious blow against St. Petersburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 61-15. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Summer, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards.
