Plans to introduce paid parking at the Mills 50 property housing Lineage Coffee and Lazy Moon Pizza are currently at a standstill, following deleted announcements, confusion and uncertainty.<\/p>\n

The issue surfaced early this week after Lineage Coffee Roasting posted on Instagram<\/a> saying its shared parking lot would soon transition to a paid system. The post described a plan that included QR code validation and limited free parking for customers in the lot \u2014 which had offered free parking for several years \u2014 set to start Jan. 26.<\/p>\n

According to reporting by Bungalower<\/a>, both Lineage and Lazy Moon learned of the proposed changes through a third-party parking management company rather than directly from the landlord. Lineage later said its post reflected all of the information it had been given at the time and that no additional clarification was provided before the announcement went public.<\/p>\n

After Lazy Moon Pizza contacted property management directly, implementation of the parking plan was halted, Bungalower<\/a> reports. Representatives for the pizza restaurant confirmed that the proposal is not moving forward at this time, though discussions about long-term parking solutions remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

According to property management, the parking discussions were prompted by increased non-customer parking after nearby properties introduced stricter parking controls. Management added that the third-party parking company involved moved ahead prematurely and that charging tenants or their customers for parking was never under consideration.<\/p>\n

A statement provided to Bungalower said the site at 1011 E. Colonial Drive is owned by 1011 E Colonial, LLC and managed by Eight K Investments. While Orlando hospitality group Team Market Group, a business owned and operated by the Mawardi family, became the subject of online speculation, the statement from Eight K emphasized that the two companies operate independently despite sharing office space and some overlapping ownership. Keith Mawardi is listed as the manager, title manager or \u201cauthorized person\u201d on all but one of Eight K\u2019s Florida Division of Corporations\u2019 annual reports.<\/p>\n

For now, parking at the Mills 50 lot remains unchanged.\u00a0<\/p>\n
