ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014\u00a0While Florida will stay warm over the weekend, a winter storm just to the north is still on the minds of many, especially those traveling.<\/p>\n
Friday proved to bring a wave of emotions to travelers at the Orlando International Airport.<\/p>\n

A winter storm is expected to impact millions of people traveling across the U.S.

MCO saw about 200 delays and about half a dozen cancellations Friday
\n
Most travelers share that they didn\u2019t experience any travel delays, while others booked earlier flights or extended their stay in Florida
\n
FlightAware indicates that dozens of cancellations are expected throughout the weekend<\/p>\n
The flight display board was filled with red and yellow on the board which indicated about 200 delays and eight cancellations.<\/p>\n
And because Central Florida is a hotbed for vacationers, MCO welcomes travelers from all over.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Peter McCann and his wife\u00a0traveled to Florida from Connecticut to take part in some Disney activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe came down for the Disney Marathon. We participated in that and stayed a week after that and stayed this past week as well,\u201d McCann shared.<\/p>\n
As they prepared to go home, they ran into some challenges they feel are due to the winter storm.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were scheduled to go back home tomorrow, and that was canceled, so we rebooked on the airline, and they canceled that too,\u201d McCann said. \u201cWhen we got here, we didn\u2019t know that it was canceled until we got here.\u201d<\/p>\n
The sign at the Avelo Airlines ticketing line is the only notice McCann said he received about the cancellation and when he called customer service, he was told that he was the 450th person in the queue, which would take more than 530 minutes to speak to a representative.<\/p>\n
So, that may mean an extended stay for the McCanns.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s going to cost us some money, I think. I mean more rooms and more eats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
But not everyone is facing the same fate.<\/p>\n
Reeven Elfman and Lisa Drew are from Rhode Island and came to Orlando for their annual Disney Vacation Club getaway.<\/p>\n
And while they enjoyed themselves, they felt it was wise to cut their trip short and fly home two days early.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe figured if we didn\u2019t get out today then we could get stuck for a while, and I was willing to get stuck for a while but we really thought we should get home,\u201d the couple said.<\/p>\n
They also shared advice with travelers who may be impacted in the coming days.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d say go with the flow. It\u2019s okay, be patient, it\u2019s okay,\u201d Lisa Drew exclaimed. \u201cIt\u2019s a gift that we get to go on vacation and be here.\u201d<\/p>\n
The McCanns decided to take Drew\u2019s advice to\u00a0heart as they decided to enjoy their lengthened stay.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re forced to stay in the Sunshine State for another two to three days, so I suppose we can make it,\u201d McCann said.<\/p>\n
