Florida State has four high school players committed to its 2027 recruiting class. The highest-ranked player, Mekhi Williams, has been committed the longest, since March 2025. <\/p>\n
He says his commitment is solid to FSU; however, he\u2019s openly communicating that he is open to any and every school that is interested in him.<\/p>\n

Williams ranks as the No. 129 player and No. 14 safety nationally. He hails from just south of Tampa in Ruskin, Florida. Why allocate so much money to signing a freshman who likely isn\u2019t going to contribute, only to see them enter the transfer portal a year later?<\/p>\n FSU might hold on to his commitment, but that term doesn’t mean much anymore in today’s climate. He committed to FSU when they were coming off of a 2-10 season, so he had to have some type of connection to the school. We’ll see how Florida State does on the field in 2026. That will likely play as big of a part in whether he signs with FSU or not, as the money. <\/p>\n FSU head coach Mike Norvell will to stave off the hot seat and all of the negative recruiting other teams will throw at players FSU has interest in. <\/p>\n
