This recently renovated 1930s Mediterranean is in the heart of the centrally located Mid-Beach area of Miami Beach.<\/p>\n

Mid-Beach, which is roughly 24th to 60th Streets, is a \u201cresidential community with sidewalks,\u201d said listing agent Nancy Batchelor, of Compass. \u201cIt\u2019s very quiet, very safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 1934 home on La Gorce Drive was designed by the architect Robert M. Little, she said.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cHe was originally out of Philadelphia before he came down here. His style is sort of Mediterranean<\/a>, Deco <\/a>and modern,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of chic, it\u2019s on a corner and it\u2019s an oversized lot.\u201dA standard lot is 7,000 square feet, and this one is 9,639.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s neat is that it\u2019s a renovated house with period architecture,\u201d Batchelor said. \u201cThey don\u2019t build them like this anymore. It\u2019s not a white box, and it\u2019s got a lot of soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

Design details include detailed ironwork, a mix of hardwood and terra cotta tile flooring, beamed ceilings, intricate tile work on the stairs and a limestone walkway.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a great Miami Beach retreat,\u201d Batchelor said. \u201cIt\u2019s got a nice layout with a big dining room, but it still has an open kitchen.\u201d The home, which is in the Beach View subdivision, is in the shape of a U, \u201cso you\u2019ve got a pool courtyard and it\u2019s super-private,\u201d she said. The dining room, kitchen, family room and primary suite all have French doors that open to the courtyard.<\/p>\n

The primary suite offers a sitting room and dual dressing rooms\/closets, according to the listing. There are three more en suite bedrooms upstairs, with access to a balcony. A separate studio is tucked behind the two-car garage.<\/p>\n

The sellers have done lots of recent work, including adding a new roof, new air conditioning and new flooring in the primary suite, painting the whole house inside and out and replacing appliances, Batchelor said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The house has all new light fixtures, outlets and switches, she said. \u201cThey really kept the soul of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey gated it and added a lot of landscaping,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s now totally fenced, with nice privacy hedges and mature trees.\u201d<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the driveway is accessed from a quiet side street, so you don\u2019t have to back out onto busy La Gorce Drive, according to the listing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s easy to go to South Beach or Bal Harbour and Surfside,\u201d Batchelor said. \u201cYou\u2019re blocks from the boardwalk and the beach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other nearby attractions include La Gorce Country Club, Pine Tree Park, Fisher Park and the 41st Street corridor, she said.<\/p>\n

And the home is just 15 minutes from the Miami airport, according to the listing.<\/p>\n
