Two students at Lake Brantley High School were charged with attempted murder, police say, after a knife was found Friday during an investigation into a possible threat toward another student.<\/p>\n
Altamonte Springs police received information earlier in the day about a potential threat at the school. The investigation revealed two students may have been involved, the department said in a news release, and a search of one of the student\u2019s bags revealed a knife and a note. Both were arrested<\/p>\n
The department said cooperation between the police department, the Seminole County School Board and law enforcement partners led to a quick response that \u201chelped prevent a potentially serious incident.\u201d<\/p>\n
Among the charges the students are facing are counts of premeditated attempted murder, the release said. The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n
No other details about the incident were included in the release.<\/p>\n
The incident came two weeks after police had responded to Lake Brantley High School for an unverified threat that was determined to be a hoax. The school was put on a Code Red, meaning students and teachers had to remain in classrooms until all was clear.<\/p>\n
