The Florida Chamber of Commerce is endorsing Rep. Josie Tomkow in the Special Election for Senate District 14.<\/p>\n

The endorsement adds the state\u2019s largest business advocacy organization to Tomkow\u2019s growing list of supporters as she campaigns to move from the House to the Senate.<\/p>\n

Tomkow, a seventh-generation Floridian and third-generation cattle rancher, has earned a lifetime A-rating on the Florida Chamber\u2019s Legislative Report Card. She currently serves as Chair of the Health & Human Services Committee in the House, a role that has kept her at the center of major policy debates involving social services and regulatory oversight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Florida Chamber of Commerce endorses Josie Tomkow as Senate District 14\u2019s next state Senator because of her proven record of defending free enterprise in Florida during her time in the Florida House.\u201d Florida Chamber President & CEO Mark Wilson said.<\/p>\n

Tomkow said she was honored to receive the Chamber\u2019s endorsement, adding, \u201cThe Florida Chamber has been a champion for all job creators and all industries across our state, and I\u2019ve been proud to work with them to build a better quality of life for Floridians and look forward to continuing to do so as District 14\u2019s next state Senator.\u201d<\/p>\n

SD 14 is rated as a Lean Republican seat under the Florida Chamber\u2019s Partisan Performance Index. Republicans make up nearly 39% of the electorate while Democrats account for just under 32% and independents make up about 29%.
