The Captiva Civic Association (CCA) is set to present its next two events of the season.<\/p>\n
The Get Pinned Porch & Patio will take place on Jan. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Captiva Civic Center, while Inner Wisdom Collage: Welcoming a New Season will be held on Jan. 30 from 3 to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n
GET PINNED PORCH & PATIO<\/p>\n
Part of its Porch & Patio series, the event will feature music, light fare and refreshments.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re known for our Porch & Patio parties, which are always a fun time,\u201d CCA Director Lauren McCraney said. \u201cBut the \u2018Get Pinned\u2019 one is special because we\u2019re celebrating our 90th anniversary.\u201d<\/p>\n
Live entertainment will be provided by singer and guitarist Dan Smyth.<\/p>\n
Attendees will enjoy treats from Catering by Leslie Adams.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe\u2019ll be there providing her delicious and amazing cuisine,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
There will be an open bar.<\/p>\n
In line with the \u201cGet Pinned\u201d theme, attending CCA members will receive a commemorative 90th anniversary lapel pin in celebration of what they and their support mean for the organization.<\/p>\n
Karen Bell and the Bell Team, with Michael Saunders and Company, is the 2025-26 season sponsor.<\/p>\n
McCraney noted that Bell has been involved with the CCA for decades.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re grateful that she continues to support us,\u201d she said. \u201cNot just in being a sponsor, but in being a member and part of our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCraney thanked R.L.R. Investments\u2019 Ali Kendall and the company.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are appreciative of not just their support of the CCA, but everything they do for our community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Tickets are free for members and $15 for non-members.<\/p>\n
The community is invited to secure a spot.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always a fun time when we get together on our porch and patio,\u201d McCraney said. \u201cJust a lot of community laughter and camaraderie \u2014 and everyone is always welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n
INNER WISDOM COLLAGE<\/p>\n
Mal\u00fa Doherty and Cindy Petrakis-Mason will present the creative play workshop.<\/p>\n
\u201cTake a pause and step into a new season through a creative and intuitive process,\u201d McCraney said. \u201cThrough collage and reflection, discover the images and symbols that hold wisdom and carry messages just for you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Attendees will make wisdom cards to inspire and anchor them in the months ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople do storyboards for the new year on their goals \u2014 this is similar,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re going to be building and creating wisdom cards using collage.\u201d<\/p>\n
No art skills are needed to participate.<\/p>\n
Doherty and Petrakis-Mason have held other programs in partnership with the CCA.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey host a lot of women\u2019s group events,\u201d McCraney said.<\/p>\n
Tickets are $57 members and $72 for non-members and include all supplies.<\/p>\n
The community is encouraged to reserve a seat.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnybody who\u2019s experienced some of the workshops with Cindy and Mal\u00fa know how special they are,\u201d she said. \u201cThey walk away with a deeper understanding of themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n
