HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL \u2014 A 62-year-old woman was killed early Saturday morning in a fiery three-vehicle crash on U.S. 301, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release. <\/p>\n
A Chevrolet Camaro, driven by a 22-year-old Brandon woman, was heading south on the highway and collided nearly head on with a GMC Terrain going north on U.S. 301 when she crossed the center line around 12:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
Both vehicles rotated and came to a rest in the U.S. 301 northbound lane and its shoulder, respectively. <\/p>\n
A Toyota Camry, driven by a 31-year-old Ruskin man, was traveling north on U.S. 301 and hit the Camaro after the initial crash, FHP said. <\/p>\n
The SUV also caught fire after the crash and responding Hillsborough County deputies helped the driver, a 64-year-old New York man, get out of it.<\/p>\n
His 64-year-old wife, who was a passenger in the SUV, couldn\u2019t be removed from the burning vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene, FHP said. <\/p>\n
The drivers all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were brought to area hospitals.
