Orlando Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost was assaulted and made the subject of racist remarks while he attended a Sundance Film Festival event Friday night, according to a statement he made on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frost says he was attending the festival in Park City, Utah when a man told him that \u201cTrump was going to deport\u201d him before he punched Frost in the face.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay,\u201d Frost\u2019s statement continues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Authorities later arrested 28-year-old Christian Joel Young for assault, aggravated burglary and assaulting an elected official, reported KUTV<\/a> in Salt Lake City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The suspect also allegedly assaulted a women after approaching her and her friend, to whom he made \u201cinappropriate and racially charged\u201d comments, reported\u00a0Fox 13 Salt Lake City<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police documents state the suspect told the women, \u201cYou are the kind we are going to deport.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incidents happened at High West Distillery during an event hosted by talent agency Creative Artists Agency. Fox 13<\/a> says Young sneaked into the invite-only event.<\/p>\n

The assault comes amid wildly heightened tensions over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement interference and presence across the country. It happened just the night before VA nurse Alex Pretti was shot multiple times and killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis, where he was using his phone to record agents on the street.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Frost has stated he believes \u201cICE is lawless and should not exist.\u201d<\/p>\n
