ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014\u00a0The massive winter storm that left much of the country with snow, ice and bitterly cold temperatures<\/a> has caused a lot of headaches for travelers now dealing with delayed or canceled flights.<\/p>\n

Fresh off a cruise, the Hisler family is headed back home to Pennsylvania and New Jersey \u2014 to a lot of snow.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo feet of snow, and now it sounds like it\u2019s going to turn into a lot of ice and stuff,\u201d Kierstyn Hisler said.<\/p>\n

It has left Kierstyn and her mom and sister wondering when \u2014 or even if \u2014 their flight would take off on Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery hour that we check it\u2019s supposed to fly out, it\u2019s been pushed back an hour,\u201d Hisler said.<\/p>\n

The delays and cancellations left many people just sitting outside of airport security with their bags stacked up \u2014 and their trips back home uncertain.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo we may as well make lemonade out of lemons,\u201d Pam Hisler said.<\/p>\n

Luckily, the Hislers said they have a place they can stay in Central Florida if they can\u2019t fly out on time. But they said the waiting and wondering about the flight status is not fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, we are just waiting for it to say canceled. Then we can just start having some fun,\u201d Pam Hisler said.<\/p>\n

They said they\u2019re not exactly looking forward to returning to the deep freeze.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have pictures of what the home looks like, and it\u2019s that deep \u2014 a path shoveled for the dog,\u201d Pam Hisler said.<\/p>\n

But despite the weather and delays, they must get back sooner than later.<\/p>\n

Work is calling \u2014 and pets like Kierstyn\u2019s dog await.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy boyfriend will just watch him, but he has to go back to work tomorrow. It will be fine,\u201d Kierstyn Hisler said. \u201cBut I\u2019m supposed to go back to work tomorrow, too, but there\u2019s only so much I can do if I\u2019m stuck in Florida. Unfortunately, there\u2019s not much we can do with all of the stuff that\u2019s going on with the airports, but just make the most of the time. And hopefully, everyone gets home safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
