Guess who\u2019s back? If you can\u2019t tell, pirates have returned to Tampa thanks to Gasparilla, a Tampe\u00f1o rite of passage that goes all the way back to 1904. <\/p>\n

The party\u2019s not been without controversy\u2014the founding Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla didn\u2019t let Black men join as members until 1991\u2014but that\u2019s not the only jaw-dropping factoid. Jose Gaspar, known as \u201cthe last of the Buccaneers,\u201d didn\u2019t even exist. <\/p>\n

Expect the improv geniuses and comedians at The Commodore to skewer the gentleman at this annual roast.<\/p>\n
