Bryan Batt and Bruce Vilanch will headline the South Florida premiere of Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays, presented by City Theatre and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.<\/p>\n
Written by an A-list lineup of writers with two Pulitzer Prizes, four Obies, one Emmy\u00ae and three Tony\u00ae nominations, Standing on Ceremony was conceived by Brian Shnipper and began as a series of benefit events in Los Angeles before an Off-Broadway engagement last fall.<\/p>\n
The performance includes a post-show wedding reception complete with music and wedding cake. <\/p>\n
The American writers who created an evening that is at once as insightful and stirring as it is funny and heartwarming are Emmy Award\u00ae winner Mo Gaffney, Heideman Award winner Jordan Harrison, Edgar Award winner Jeffrey Hatcher, Pulitzer Prize winner and Tony Award\u00ae nominee Neil LaBute, Sundance Jury Prize winner Wendy MacLeod, Obie Award winner Jos\u00e9 Rivera, Obie and Outer Critics Circle Award winner Paul Rudnick, Tony Award\u00ae nominee Mois\u00e9s Kaufman and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award\u00ae winner Doug Wright.<\/p>\n
