A political arm of Florida\u2019s largest physicians\u2019 advocacy organization is getting behind Davie pediatric surgeon Eric \u201cDoc\u201d Stelnicki\u2019s bid for House District 100.<\/p>\n

FMA PAC<\/a>, which represents the interests of the Florida Medical Association, just endorsed Stelnicki, who is running to succeed outgoing Rep. Chip LaMarca, a fellow Republican, next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Florida Medical Association PAC is pleased to endorse GOP candidate and physician, Doc Stelnicki in his bid for House District 100,\u201d FMA PAC President Andrew Borom said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Stelnicki has a unique understanding of the issues impacting Florida physicians not only as a medical professional, but as a businessman navigating the myriads of regulations and obstacles that prevent doctors from practicing medicine. We look forward to working closely with him in the Florida Legislature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stelnicki, in turn, said he\u2019s \u201cproud to have the support\u201d of FMA PAC, whose members \u201cunderstand better than anyone the challenges facing our healthcare system, from workforce shortages to rising costs and regulatory red tape.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI share the FMA\u2019s commitment to common sense reforms that protect the physician-patient relationship, improve access to care, and keep healthcare decisions where they belong \u2014 with patients and their doctors,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cI\u2019m thankful for the FMA\u2019s confidence in my candidacy and look forward to working with them to deliver real results for Floridians.\u201d<\/p>\n

The FMA PAC nod Tuesday adds to others from Americans for Prosperity Action<\/a> and Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia.<\/p>\n

HD 100<\/a>\u00a0covers a coastal stretch of Broward from Fort Lauderdale to Deerfield Beach. It\u2019s the only legislative district fully within the county in GOP hands.<\/p>\n

Stelnicki is competing with three other Republicans \u2014 lawyer Yoni Anijar, entrepreneur Raul Gallon and former Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Mayor Chris Vincent \u2014 in a Primary.<\/p>\n

Banker and former U.S. Senate staffer Jim Brenner is the contest\u2019s lone Democrat.<\/p>\n
