St. Petersburg police say the child’s body was found in a home on Tanglewood Drive Northeast, just north of Shore Acres.<\/p>\n
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \u2014 A St. Pete mother is facing a first-degree murder charge after her four-year-old child was found dead by his teen sister, police said.<\/p>\n
The St. Pete Police Department responded just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to a call about a child who was found dead and a woman who was injured inside a home on Tanglewood Drive Northeast, just north of Shore Acres.<\/p>\n
At the scene, St. Pete Police Chief Anthony Holloway told 10 Tampa Bay News that the sister of the child, a 16-year-old girl, arrived home from school, saw that her brother had been stabbed to death and called police.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Authorities later identified the boy as Finley Joseph Cullom.<\/p>\n
Police said that based on the evidence currently available in the investigation, the mother, 43-year-old Diana Cullom, stabbed the child.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old also found a note in the house, which police believe was left by Cullom.<\/p>\n
“She found a note in the house, so we believe that the scene is contained within the home,” Holloway said. “We don’t believe there is any danger to anyone in the community.”<\/p>\n
Cullom was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. She was booked into jail around 2 a.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The father was also being interviewed by police, according to the chief.<\/p>\n
