Stuart, Fla. (CBS12 News) \u2014 The recent deaths of two protestors who were shot by ICE agents in Minneapolis<\/a> have sparked a public outcry.<\/p>\n

Those two incidents are having an impact here in South Florida.<\/p>\n

Dozens of protestors gathered outside the office of Congressman Brian Mast in Stuart on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

They cheered as drivers passing by honked their horns to show support.<\/p>\n

Several protestors told us they denounce the aggressive tactics of ICE agents<\/a> in Minneapolis which they say violate the law and have little regard for the safety or immigration status of people they encounter.<\/p>\n

Some say Congressman Mast needs to oppose what ICE is doing.<\/p>\n

“Mast is not standing up for what his constituents want,” said Don, a protestor from Palm City who would not give his last name.<\/p>\n

“Due process is not happening. They’re just scooping people off the streets. No search warrants, no probable cause, based on the color of their skin,” said Tom Service, a protestor from Hobe Sound and a U.S. Navy veteran.<\/p>\n

“I am not interested in seeing ICE be let loose in our area. I am not interested in seeing my law-abiding, legally-carrying citizens of my state be terrorized for exercising their right to peacefully protest,” said Alannah Ghazal, a protestor from Stuart.<\/p>\n

We reached out to Congressman Brian Mast’s office, asking if he has a comment about the protestors’ concerns and we’re waiting for his response.<\/p>\n

Protestors say they’ll return again next Wednesday morning at 11, to voice their opposition to what ICE agents are doing and their conduct.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Stuart, Fla.
