If a 7-acre plan is chosen, the police department and operations center would remain.

It has not been determined what would happen to the police department and emergency operations If the plan for the full 14 acres is picked, she says.

The redevelopment of the municipal center comes as Largo is nearly finished with a new $80 million mixed-use development that will house City Hall and city services includes 18,000 square feet of retail space and a parking garage.

The 90,000-square-foot downtown project is on the 400 block of West Bay Drive and named Horizon West Bay.

Oyer, with the city, says City Hall and services, including building, permits and planning, are scheduled to relocate to Horizon West Bay in late spring. A move is currently scheduled to happen before April 27.

The current municipal complex is about 1.4 miles east, near the Highland Recreational Center and residential neighborhoods. Largo paid $4.6 million for the property in 1996.

Proposals are dues by April 27 and must be submitted through DemandStar. A pre-proposal meeting will be held Feb. 26.

As for CBRE’s role, according to the statement it is serving as the city’s real estate development advisor, representing it in the solicitation of bids and negotiations.

The city of Largo seeks a developer to redevelop its 14-acre municipal campus.
