CORAL GABLES, Fla. \u2013 Opening its second road trip of the ACC calendar, Stanford men\u2019s basketball fell to Miami, 79-70, at the Watsco Center. The Cardinal moves to 14-7 on the season with a 3-5 mark in the ACC.<\/p>\n
Ebuka Okorie<\/a> led the offense with 19 points, along with five rebounds and four assists. Benny Gealer<\/a> matched a season-high with 17 points, including a season-best five 3-pointers. Ryan Agarwal<\/a> added 11 points and six rebounds while AJ Rohosy<\/a> finished with 10 points and four rebounds.<\/p>\n Stanford made 11 3-pointers and held a 25-18 advantage in points off of the bench. The Cardinal drops to 4-3 in the all-time series with Miami (15-6, 6-2 ACC).<\/p>\n The Hurricanes jumped out to an early 11-2 lead through 3:30 of play, but Stanford cut the deficit to one possession with just over nine minutes remaining in the half after a 7-0 run was capped by a Gealer 3-pointer. Okorie continued the push with seven consecutive points, and Stanford took its first lead after a layup from Agarwal with 1:55 to play. Agarwal added another 3-pointer to close the half, and Stanford led at the break, 40-35.<\/p>\n The Cardinal led by as many as nine points, 49-40, with 14:20 to go. Miami tied the game at 56-56 with 6:52 to play, which kick-started a 10-0 Hurricanes run. Gealer made a trio of triples down the stretch, but Miami held strong to earn the result.<\/p>\n Stanford returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Florida State.
