Once a month, a warehouse-garage space nestled in the Warehouse Arts District takes a new spin on its Sunday afternoon in St. Petersburg.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Low lighting, vintage furniture and decor define an eccentric venue where guests are invited to listen to contemporary and classic jazz as they chat or work. And it all starts at Suite E Studios.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hosted by WUSF\u2019s Jazz Brand Manager, Warren Buchholz, Sunday Jazz welcomes anyone and everyone.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople love just being able to come and chill, grab a cup of coffee and just hang out, do homework, work, whatever they need to do and just listen to some cool jazz,\u201d Buchholz told The Crow\u2019s Nest. At WUSF, Buchholz brings local performers into the studio and records their sets to help them find gigs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a robust events calendar online, I do Spotify playlists, I do events like this and then I run the website, so I do a bunch of stuff,\u201d Buchholz told The Crow\u2019s Nest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The event started in July 2025 and was created in partnership with Suite E Studios; It has since garnered an audience of approximately 30 people each month.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Buchholz was happy to find a place where he could share his extensive record collection with others in a community space. He had been DJing around the Tampa Bay area for a few years and was glad to continue doing so at this venue.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI love the Warehouse Arts District; I always try to do things down here,\u201d Buchholz said. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the last places in St. Pete that an artist can afford to rent out a studio.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

For their event on Jan. 18 and following ones, Buchholz was able to get albums from St. Petersburg-based record store Daddy Kool Records.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Buchholz hopes to get more local record stores involved, such as Bananas Records or Planet Retro Records, in any way he can.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He also has curated themed playlists planned for future Sundays, such as James Bond soundtracks, cool jazz and bebop and playing big names like Duke Ellington and Miles Davis by the hour.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

WUSF Jazz\u2019s site is the home to its event calendar, recorded performances, podcast episodes, playlists and a place to support through donations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re amplifying and advertising the musicians, the talented musicians that really make the scene possible,\u201d said Buchholz.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
