Baptist Health Sunrise Hospital hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the new facility. The planned seven-story, 340,000-square-foot facility is expected to open to patients in 2029, expanding access to care for residents of Sunrise and western Broward County. The hospital is designed as a modern, future-ready campus incorporating advanced medical technology, sustainable design features and a focus on patient-centered care. It represents Baptist Health\u2019s latest effort to meet the community\u2019s growing healthcare needs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis groundbreaking of Baptist Health Sunrise Hospital, our first hospital in Broward, marks a pivotal moment in our journey to expand trusted, compassionate care across the region,\u201d said Bo Boulenger, chief executive officer of Baptist Health. \u201cIt reflects our unwavering commitment to strengthening care access for the families we serve and ensuring that world-class care is always close to home.\u201d<\/p>\n

The hospital will feature AI-enabled clinical systems, robotic-assisted surgery and digital integration with the broader Baptist Health network. The technology is intended to support faster clinical decision-making, more precise treatment and a more seamless patient experience. The building\u2019s flexible infrastructure is designed to adapt as new healthcare innovations emerge.<\/p>\n

Planned features of the hospital include:<\/p>\n

100 inpatient beds once at full capacity, including 10 critical care beds, with room to expand
\nA 30-bed emergency department with three triage areas and 24\/7 emergency care
\nFour surgical suites with robotic-assisted capabilities, with capacity for future expansion
\nA 25,000-square-foot medical office building for outpatient and specialty services
\n1,080 parking spaces across a five-story parking garage and surface lots
\nA 15-acre conservation easement to protect nearby wetlands and local biodiversity<\/p>\n

The hospital will be located at 12401 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in Sunrise, Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n
