With armed<\/a>, aggressive motorists<\/a> darting through Miami with reckless abandon, driving a vehicle here often feels as treacherous as sailing through the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 18th century. Yes, braving the Miami streets is a fool\u2019s errand, and a new study by legal experts revealing we have the rudest, most aggressive, annoying, and entitled drivers of any metro in the U.S. could explain why.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles-based Lemon Law Experts<\/a> surveyed residents in the 40 most populous U.S. cities, asking questions about the behaviors they encounter on their streets in a noble effort to find the most annoying drivers in the nation. Unfortunately yet predictably, Miami is the clear frontrunner for the dubious honor.<\/p>\n

\u201cForgetting to signal to switch lanes or turn off your high beams are natural mistakes that most drivers have made at least once. What makes these behaviors truly heinous is when they are done routinely and intentionally,\u201d attorney and managing partner of Lemon Law Experts Jessica Anvar wrote in the study.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen analyzing these habits across the country, we found it\u2019s Miami that leads the way with an annoying driver score of 98.50 out of 100,\u201d she wrote in the study. \u201cWhen asked how annoying drivers are in their city, 86 percent of Miami residents responded with a seven or higher on a scale of zero to 10, with 10 representing extremely annoying.\u201d<\/p>\n

So profound is the annoying reputation of Miami drivers that the gap between first and second (6.3 points) is greater than the difference between second and seventh (6 points).<\/p>\n

Some of the annoying behaviors pointed out in the survey were using a cell phone, cutting across lanes without signaling (South Floridians\u2019 favorite pastime), tailgating, speeding on major roads, waiting until the last second to merge, speeding on residential streets, not letting others merge, loud music, not moving to the right for faster cars to pass, and rolling through stop signs.<\/p>\n

But \u201cmost annoying drivers\u201d was far from the only title Miami claimed in the study. The Magic City may have to add a shelf to its unwanted titles trophy cabinet after claiming No. 1 in categories like rudest drivers, most entitled drivers, and most obnoxious parkers. Miami came in close second for most reckless drivers and fifth for most distracted. <\/p>\n
