The Sanibel City Council is accepting applications for the Historical Preservation Committee and the Vegetation Committee.<\/p>\n
HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMITTEE<\/p>\n
The Historical Preservation Committee shall be composed of a minimum of five but not more than 10 members. The terms will begin on March 3 and end on March 15, 2027.<\/p>\n
Qualifications include:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Members are appointed by the council for one-year terms.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Appointees must be full-time residents of Sanibel.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Appointees must have knowledge, skills or interest in historical preservation.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n
\u2013 Attend committee meetings quarterly on the first Thursday of each month (February, May, August and November) at 9 a.m. at City Hall, at 800 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Additional meetings may be scheduled as business arises.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Assist in the committee\u2019s procedures for acquisition and de-accession of materials and objects acquired by the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Assist the committee in collecting, procuring, preserving and displaying items relating to the history of the islands of Sanibel, Captiva and their environs.<\/p>\n
