Eastern Kentucky<\/a> transfer offensive lineman Fred Hinton<\/a> is committing to Oklahoma<\/a> via the transfer portal, On3 has learned. He\u2019ll be expected to shore up the Sooners offensive line in 2026.<\/p>\n

Hinton played high school football at Port St. Lucie (Port Saint Lucie, FL)<\/a>, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1398 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted algorithm that compiles all major recruiting media services.<\/p>\n

The 2025-26 college football transfer portal lasted 15 days, spanning from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16. Players have had just over two weeks to enter the portal, but they\u2019re not under a deadline to commit when they enter. Traditionally, the cut-off for committing has been how late a school can enroll a player through admissions, which varies throughout the sport.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Tennessee<\/a>\u00a0transfer freshman tight end\u00a0Jack Van Dorselaer<\/a>\u00a0has committed to\u00a0Oklahoma<\/a> as well, On3\u2019s Hayes Fawcett reported. He was tabbed as the No. 442-ranked player (No. 25 TE) in\u00a0On3\u2019s Transfer Portal Industry Rating<\/a>. As a true freshman, Van Dorselaer hauled in five receptions for 23 yards and one touchdown this past season.<\/p>\n

Prior to enrolling at\u00a0Tennessee, Van Dorselaer was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 384 overall player in the\u00a02025 class<\/a>, according to the Rivals Industry Rating. He was the No. 23 TE in his class and the No. 52 overall player from the state of Texas, hailing from\u00a0Southlake Carroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hauling in Van Dorselaer serves as another major recruiting victory for\u00a0Oklahoma\u00a0and newly hired tight ends coach\u00a0Jason Witten<\/a>. He is widely regarded as one of the best tight ends in NFL history.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love football and I love teaching the game, and\u00a0Oklahoma\u00a0is as prestigious a college football program as there is in the country. So I\u2019m thankful to Coach\u00a0(Brent) Venables<\/a>\u00a0for the opportunity to work together,\u201d Witten said via a\u00a0press release<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s been clear to me from the outset that he\u2019s one of the best leaders of men in football. It\u2019s a tremendous opportunity and I\u2019m proud to be a Sooner.<\/p>\n

Van Dorselaer comes to\u00a0Oklahoma\u00a0from\u00a0Tennessee, Witten\u2019s alma mater. He is the second tight end addition from the Transfer Portal, joining veteran\u00a0Colorado State<\/a>\u00a0transfer\u00a0Rocky Beers<\/a>. Last season, Beers hauled in 31 receptions for 388 yards and seven touchdowns.<\/p>\n
